About the Channel and Podcast
The Philosophical Chat Podcast and YouTube Channel will be where we broadcast or programmes about pretty much anything. That’s the beauty of Philosophical.Chat – it’s not about philosophy, it’s about chatting philosophically!
The format of each episode will depend on the topic, subject matter and the whether it is a (home) studio piece to camera, on location or an interview. The formats will be as varied as the topics we cover.
When a topic is either sensitive or controversial, or where it would be inappropriate to condone or advocate a particular point of view or ideology, the format will be quite specific. Here’s how it’ll work.
The topic will be discussed from a particular viewpoint, and as such may initially appear to be inflammatory or even offensive to some people. However, and this is the important part, an equally balanced argument will be presented, just as it would be in a debate. Viewers will be left to draw their own conclusions. Under these circumstances we will not disclose our own opinions.
However, on some less sensitive topics, we will use our discretion when it comes to expressing our own opinions. These topics will include issues regarding the environment, certain moral viewpoints, reviews and anything of a light hearted nature.
The YouTube comments and social media accounts will be open for conversation. We ask people to be respectful here but can not guarantee suitable behaviour.
This website is designed to be the safe area for people to converse. Comments here on the Philosophical.Chat blog will be monitored and moderated. Comments from members will need to be approved initially and must comply with our Forum Rules.
We do not guarantee that there will be nothing offensive either on our Podcast, Channel or on this Blog. If you do find anything you disagree with, we will not be offended if you let us know, propose an opposing point of view of correct any inaccuracies here. That is, after all, the whole point of Philosophical Chat.
All we ask is that we’re all philosophically respectful.
